Of course, the downside is that you are not going to be able to swim in the winter or ski in the summer. You are going to pay the price for your off season deal, but this can be compensated by the joy of spending time in a luxury hotel room that you might not normally be able to afford. Remember that there is still a lot to enjoy walking the shoreline in the fall, or enjoying the mountains in the summer. Family vacation areas like theme parks are open in the spring and fall and their operating times might overlap off season rates in nearby hotels.
